Our architecture:

The Hacienda Resort's architecture has been inherited from the 16th century and its various buildings utilized with their original features. Some of these ancient buildings are:

Picture
  • The Original Monastery and Chapel has been incorporated into the Hotel -- leveraging its majesty and extraordinary vaults for some of the most exclusive events and meetings. A decorated doorway with three medallions (the symbol of the Dominican order) also exists and is preserved as a historical jewel, as these medallions proclaim the attributes of the place.

  • The Hull of the Former Hacienda was the original house that now houses 40 of the 284 rooms, 3 of our restaurants, the kitchen area, games, and all the guest services area.

  • El Trapiche, where the cane crushing happened and sugar was made, is one of our main venues for events and meetings. Its characteristics allow these events to have maximum elegance in a unique simplicity and majesty.

  • The Ex-Hacienda's arch-entrance is now fully integrated into the structure of the hotel's world-class Spa.

  • The Granaries, which stored the cane before entering the grinding area, were located in what is now our main pool.

  • Our 16th Century Aqueduct remains a hydraulic work that allows the passage of water through the hotel, which is then taken to agricultural land in the area. In addition, during its way through the property it generates countless waterfalls, which together with our gardens and the subtle sound of the water, creates a relaxing atmosphere.

  • The Cloister, which now houses four meeting rooms, was added to the monastery in the 16th century, and is where the monks used to pray.

  • The Hacienda Manager's House is now the building that is located in the golf course outlet, and which has also been adapted for workrooms.

Our environment:

The Hacienda Resort's entire basic infrastructure was built from its original foundations, and the areas previously described reused, all while respecting the trees that survived the revolutionary period in 1810. From this war that lasted several years and completely destroyed the facilities of the estate, the beamed-built ceilings were collapsing. When this happened, the walls exposed the local land they contained in the middle that harbored amates seeds (local trees). With rain and time, the seeds eventually germinated and their roots, in search of nutrients, intertwined constructions and became part of the magical setting of this Hacienda Resort.

This entire legacy represents for us an enormous responsibility, and allows us, in their preservation and care, to respond to the challenge of its adequate preservation. Finally, we feel privileged to be the custodians and managers in charge of preserving this historic landmark for future generations.

That is why we have embarked, for the past 30 years, in a campaign to reduce our environmental footprint. This has been achieved through investment in solar panels, water treatment plant, waste recycling, green waste treatment (composting), LED bulbs, water-saving equipment and irrigation with treated water.

Organizational Culture:

We are committed to the common good and to the respect for the dignity of people. At the same time, we believe that the company exists to serve human beings and its eight related parties (shareholders, employees, customers, suppliers, government, environment, competitors and community). In order to fulfill this, the integral development of all the collaborators of this company is essential, as this allows us to maintain high standards of quality in the service we provide to our guests. This in turn, allows us to deliver sustainability in the results to which we are obliged, and therefore, to the fulfillment of the social, environmental and economic objectives. With these premises, we intend to achieve an atmosphere of freedom, truth, and justice that builds trust and respect where all related parties interact.

It is in this atmosphere that we hope that our commitment to quality achieves the satisfaction of our guests.
